Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

So I’ll admit I did watch the Netflix special first. Which I thought was excellent, it was suspenseful and edge of your seat. Naturally the minute I finished it I picked up the book.

I know there are a lot of reviews where people have down graded it for making them feel terrible… let me tell you now this is not a feel good book, it’s not meant to make you happy it plays psychological warfare with you. AND if you have a psychotic family member (mother in particular) this may not be for you.

Having said all that I thought the book was good it did a good job and sucking you into the drama and suspense. I am guilty of comparing it to the show and I think there were some bits in the book that were done much better and explained ALOT for me, likewise I thought that show also addressed some of the storyline better. All in all though very entertaining and (I won’t say enjoyable because well… it’s bat shit crazy, but it’s meant to be) I do recommend it to people who like these sorts of books.

If you are looking to feel good at the end… well, read at your own risk.
