Objectively, I liked the book. With that said, it fell a bit flat for me after the gloriousness of the Cat and Mouse Duet. I enjoyed the background of Molly and the details of her kidnapping, escape, and ultimate reconciling with her sister, but the love story is what knocked it down to 3 stars for me. I didn’t really feel a connection to them as a couple and it felt a bit of a let down. I’m excited to read more of this world and what happens next, I just feel that it was a bit forced and rushed? I realize it’s a novella and is meant to be a quick, fast-paced read, I just had higher expectations. I enjoyed the flashbacks, just not so much the “now” if that makes sense. I recommend lovers of the C&M Duet to read it but just be prepared.
