Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco
3.0
While this isn’t the most unique concept or captivating FMC, this book did its job as the first in a series: it set up enough (if too much) mystery about a curse, a prophecy, a world we don’t know much detail about, and set the tension between our love interests. This was interesting enough that I want to keep reading, so it accomplished what it needed to. I want to see more romantic scenes in the next book, and I want to see Emilia come into her own as a FMC and prove she’s got the bravery and the cunning to be a worthy player in the conflict.
