Let me start by saying that I’m really glad this book popped up in my feed.
Mel, a high profile actress literally ran over AJ and her daughter outside of an ice cream shop. AJ was overwhelmed and angry after this encounter. The two meet up again in a couple more chance meets, the final being where AJ saved Mel’s life.
Slowly the two began building a relationship and it was nice to see the development between these two. Parker, AJ’s daughter was an integral part of the book and I commend our author for not only including a character on the autism spectrum but for handling it with such care and respect. Without Parker we would not have this wonderful book. The dialogue between all characters was natural and the figurative language added to the plot. It was relatively drama free and while Mel’s celebrity status played a part in this book, wasn’t the whole focus and wasn’t a reason for them to break up (I enjoyed a non-breakup for once).
There were a few grammatical errors but no significant enough to ruffle my feathers. Overall this was a really well written book and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author!
