“What do you do when the things that are supposed to protect you, fail you like that?”

This wasn't what I was expecting in a positive way. I guess I was expecting something like the first book but this one surprised me. My initial thoughts about Jamie changed as the story progressed and I got to know more about him. The reason for his disappearance really shocked me and made me sad. The ending was heartbreaking, both for the victims of what happened and to Pip. I really feel bad for her because she's so young to have experienced this. I'm just glad she has her family, her friends (except Lauren and Ant, I hate them), and most of all, Ravi. Ravi was the ray of sunshine in this book. He's got some funny lines and it's really nice how well he knows Pip and that he's always there for her.

I'm both excited and nervous to start the third book knowing the trauma Pip experienced from both books, and knowing that
Max Hastings is a free man roaming the streets.
