The way the author constantly brings forth the age difference to remind you how wrong the relationship is in order to bring the reader back into the truth instead of Vanessa’s reality twisted me up several times. Much like reading Frankenstein, it was hard to escape Vanessa’s perspective of Strane to see him for what he was. Truly captivating and well written.
