Stay Close by Harlan Coben

2.0

Boy. I've read every stand alone Harlan Coben has written since Tell No One. He's one of the few "best sellers" that I find enjoyable, AND I admire his outspokenness about sexism in publishing. But, LORD, I slogged through this, and slogging is absolutely not what reading a novel like this should be like. I just didn't really care about the mystery, and the characters seemed extra-cliched, but, more than that, this book felt dated. Its technology did not realistically seem to take place in 2012, which is something Coben is usually good at. A book like this should be read in a day or two, and this took me two weeks.
