Thicker than Water is well written, however, it felt super safe. Not quite as vulnerable as one would expect with a memoir. Outside of her parents, Ms. Washington does not explore her relationships with anyone. I do think her exploration of her eating disorder could be relatable to some. This was not my favorite memoir but I still really enjoyed it. It’s a fast read.
