I loved the first book, and had really high hopes for the second but could not finish it. Maybel became a character I could no longer resinate with, and even threw in a “I’m not like other girls” bit just for eating a piece of pizza. The story didn’t progress in captivating way for me, and I no longer looked forward to continuing the story.
