This book is just as good as the first one. And I can barely describe how much I loved the first one. Yes, it's that good.

You can really tell the plot is thickening and Marie Brennan is showing off her background as an anthropologist by creating these intricately developed cultures and sites. The level of detail she managed to put in in just one book is astonishing, and so very original too. The study and exploration of the dragons was fascinating and very well described, really rooted in reality and the scientific method despite the obvious fantasy aspects of it, (it being dragons and all). And it was so well integrated within the story that, even to lay people, or the less scientifically inclined, it's still fascinating I think.

The Green Hell was really well described, I could almost feel myself sweat after some of the more harrowing scenes. And the ending was superb, it all tied in together in the most satisfying of ways. I could not put the book down on the last 100 pages, it was so fast-paced and exciting. What a journey. Can't wait to read the next one!
