Wow, I can't stand Hester but I also couldn't stop following her revenge road trip across the US, filled with several detours and flash backs to her past, as she makes her way across the country to kill her father. Bad Nature by Ariel Courage is so well written and researched, I found myself pausing for some quick Google searches on unfamiliar topics.
This novel follows Hester, a well accomplished corporate attorney who receives news of her terminal illness so she decides to set off on a road trip from New York to California to fulfill her dream of killing her own father. Along the way she picks up an environmental activist hitchhiking his way from one superfund site to the next. Slowly, Hester makes her way closer to her final destination while her health rapidly declines.
