No one will tell you this but me by Bess Kalb

This spectacular memoir will elicit powerful feelings of deja vu for Jews from the former USSR who emigrated to the U.S. or Canada. For those who don't have this familiar background and access to this oral history, it is a great opportunity to connect with this story. Bess Kalb's writing is concise and evocative, inviting readers to reflect on the beauty of her relationship with her grandmother, the sociopolitical context of Jewish migration to America, and the evolving role of feminism autonomy in women's lives in the 20th and 21st century. I recommended this book to my mom and she, in turn, has recommended it to her friends.
