I read these books backwards. This is a much broader look at a variety of theories and discoveries and his newer books are more focused on specific sections mentioned in this one (time, quantum mechanics).

Still really enjoyed it, but it’s important to remember the dominant Western narrative books like these reinforce for us. The idea that Western narratives are the only ones, and that only those people “discovered” all these fantastical things is false. It’s lacking. Many ancient scientific discoveries were made in Africa as well, but colonizers have done a good job at burying and destroying a lot of that history and evidence. Yes these discussed discoveries are important and advanced science at a global scale, but also yes there is more to this picture and history.
