For someone that had been following the series on, mostly, TikTok, to say I was hipped for this book is an understatement. Besides it did not disappoint! At all.
Did I cry? Obviously, really within the first 3 chapters, be aware keep a box of tissue close by.
Did I laugh? Also within the firsts chapters.
Was our beloved characters present? Fuck yeah! And even some additional ones for whom to also fall in love with!
Could I predict the plot at any given time? Not really. And this is saying as a person who had bing watch a few times all 500-ish episodes of Hell Belles!
I had some basic knowledge of what to expect, other than the world building, set up of said world, some characters, and yet, it was as if I was meeting all for the first time - in a fresh way of presenting the history, but bringing and in addition to keeping the essence of the TikTok show. Is all here in the pages: the witty humor, heart wrenching situations, good banter, awesome characters, the competitive streak!
Even ‘knowing’ the story, I was kicking my feet in excitement for the each and new road the characters had embark on - I was cheering with them, crying, giggling and all in between as well.
And it was a journey! A fantastic one, full of valleys, great scenery, grand conversations and a party or two.
The development of the characters are very much believable, we see the struggles and the support given and received…
It’s not in the least a ‘light’ reading, because some of the topics are somewhat cumbersome, albeit it has heavy doses of romance and comic relief in it, yet worth it, every line, page and chapter!
One of the best books I’ve read in a long while. 10/10 recommend. Cannot sing prazes enough.
