The Week Before the Wedding by Beth Kendrick
4.0
I needed a palate cleanser from all the murder -- this did the trick! It's a quick, sweet read.
Emily is trying very hard to be someone she's not. She's marrying a surgeon and going along with his family's stodgy expectations. Her ex-husband from a disastrous starter marriage shows up at the hotel and shenanigans ensue.
I loved Emily's mom and step-sister -- think Blanche from the Golden Girls thrown into a mix of pearl-clutching blue bloods. There was lots of witty dialogue. And, of course, a happy ending, which is why you read books like this.
