I really appreciated how much of this book gives room for Jem to actually react and process what happened in the previous one. There’s no easy fix-it and his internal journey felt very personal and human. It’s hard to follow up how enjoyable the first one is but this is a very fair sequel. I love when characters actually have to stay in the dog house for a bit and man, does Jem give Candor a run of it. 

I had fun with these two! It’s not often you find such a likable pair of mains in this genre and I enjoyed reading about them.
