End of Days by Susan Ee

3.0

TDR: ITS ALL TOO SHORT :,((

Gosh I finished this serious in two days, sacrificing precious sleep. Was it worth it? Honestly, yes! It’s been a while since a plot and world encouraged me to read through the whole series, and like others have said, Ee has crafted a potentially amazing post-apocalyptic world in her first book. And had perfect cliffhangers that immediately had me buying the next installment.

But honestly, It’s just sad to see it end so fast.

I feel like the second book and especially, ESPECIALLY, the third book were short and rushed.
She ends the trilogy in finale that lacks genuine satisfaction. There’s still so much about the world and so many things to do that we are left unknowing. And the third book climax definitely could’ve been fleshed out more. Everything seemed rushed, but not in the good urgent way that the first book was, this time with more plot holes and less realism.

Don’t get me wrong, I really did love the characters and am satiated by the reads in general.
But it saddens me to see that this world had so much more potential. The characters had so much more potential.
And hearing that the series was supposed to be 6 books long is heartbreaking because I KNOW it would’ve been reallll good.

Good bye to Penryn and Raffe :,) they honestly could’ve been more amazing if the series had gone longer.

I do recommend reading thru! It’s was a short but nevertheless thrilling ride!

+SPOILER below!+

I wish we new more about the angels, the world they came from, and why the heck they even there on earth?! I feel like all of these mysteries were mentioned multiple times throughout the book but never answered :(

:,) also, I was thinking of raffe’s immortality and tendency for loneliness and it made me sad thinking penryn will age and die one day :( but since the ending never said anything about their future I will write it in my mind they do age and die together and live eternal life in heaven
