AMAZING!!!! INCREDIBLE!!!!!!

It's been a full ten hours since I finished this audiobook and I'm still reeling. OMG i am obSESSED!!!

I kept seeing so much hype over this and was humming and hawing over whether I should read it. I'd watched a recent youtube video from one of my fav book tubers (I think it was Hailey in Bookland, although I always saw Emmmabooks raving about it as well) and she was (still) raving about it and recommended listening to the audiobook version. So I finally gave in (I listened via Audible) and immediately asked myself "WHY DIDN'T I START THIS SOONER?!?!?!"

This book follows the story of singer/songwriter Daisy Jones and the rock band The Six during the 60s and 70s. It sheds light on how Daisy and The Six came together as Daisy Jones & the Six, their rise to fame and their eventual split through a series of interviews with the entire band (each telling their own perspective). Taylor Jenkins Reid was so clever with the way she crafted this, but because of this format, I HIGHLY recommend listening to the audiobook version (it's a soothing listen and the narration is impeccable).

I loved every single part of this. The characters (were complex, multidimensional and I felt close to them - they were all relatable in their own way and the women were so empowering!!!!!), their stories (the love, laughter and, whew, the drama), THE MUSIC - it all felt so real. The lyricism behind the songs was beautiful and poetic. I wanted this so badly to real (can we get a soundtrack????? [yes, I found the Spotify playlist]).

I still can't get over how brilliant, dynamic and just different this book was and I already know I'll be reading it again (likely very soon). I also can't believe this was my first read by Taylor Jenkins Reid and I can already feel myself going on a TJR (audio) book bender.
