The Thousand Names
by Django Wexler
Okay here's the thing with The Thousand Names, over two thirds of the book has barely any fantasy at all. It's mostly military strategy, which can be interesting up to a point, but then after pages and pages of it starts to become very dry. The last third of the book was pretty engaging though, I will say.
The characters are fleshed out, which is a super plus in my book, I was fascinated with them all. But the military strategy was at the forefront, and not even the characters could save that. I'm intrigued at where this is going, but I don't know that I enjoyed this enough to want to read it.
