4.0

A very short anthology of stories and poems in various languages (mostly English) and various genres, written by aspiring now- published authors of all races.

Out of all, I really enjoyed:
• Break for the witty banter between Jack the skeleton and the mannequin, though I have a slight feeling that this is a retelling of "Titanic";
• Cigarettes & Expectations, where the author speaks of that tough love many experience with their elders;
• The Missing Tomb, which manages to weave together tradition, history, and tragedy all at once; and
• Sellamah's Home for a most unexpected twist to a horror story.

While I'm not a fan of reading poems, I do enjoy listening to spoken poetry! "Racial Ambiguity" and "Racial Remarks" were my favourites, which I had the opportunity to hear its performance at the launch of "Emerging Malaysian Writers 2018".

All in all, a very quick read. Some hits and misses - which is to be expected with anthologies - but mostly hits in this one. I'm looking forward to see what's in store with the next publication.
