While I wasn't a huge fan of the first book in this series, I really wanted to give this series another shot in hopes of it improving. Unfortunately, for me, it didn't; it just got worse. I just couldn't connect to the characters, and that is a huge drawback for me in any book I read; that and the lack of chemistry I felt of the characters themselves. Too much rambling between the characters that just seemed to have no point in moving the story along. I'm not a fan of constant small talk filler, so another star gone. While I enjoyed Elizabeth the little bit that she was in the first book, I just couldn't come to like her as a lead main character. Also really not a fan of overly crass words during sexual scenes or any other; it just super annoys me and turns me off really quick from a book all together. I looked past it in the first book but I just couldn't again. To each their own, but definitely a no go for me.
