malgault 's review for:
Identity Crisis
by Brad Meltzer
A decent enough story with numerous issues. There were some good emotional moments in it and some questionable ones particularly around the big reveal of what happened to Sue in the Watchtower. I won't go into it too much, but the book seems to use rape as shock value more than anything else which I don't think is terribly good storytelling nor is it good for wider culture. Finally, the big reveal of the murderer at the end is a bit weak (perhaps for some more familiar with the world of DC it has a lot more weight).
All in all, I bar a few early backstory reveals early on I don't know why this story arc has such a high status in the comics world and feel it says more about comics culture and its view of women than anything else.
