Whew, what a time for this book to be released.

Set in a not-too distant future where the Supreme Court has ruled abortion illegal in most states, the story follows a young pregnant trans man in a quiet alien invasion. I’m not a fan of pregnancy horror but this explores pregnancy through a transmasc perspective with themes of bodily autonomy and gender dysphoria. This book made my skin crawl at times and some scenes lowkey had me gagging (especially that one scene towards the end. I had to skim over that). Andrew Joseph White has once again solidified his place as one of my auto-read authors because he writes compelling characters and touches on different topics that affect the trans community and it never feels dull or repetitive. I was very much looking to his adult debut and he did not let me down.
