Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo

A sequel living up to the hype! While I do think NH is better written, HB is no doubt fun and chaotic, reprising our beloved cast and seeing them come together even more was exactly what I wanted.
Unfortunately at times, HB felt more YA which is why I didn’t enjoy it as much - the dialogue in particular. The plot itself was a bit too back and forth for me, but there was just enough points of interest between the back and forth that kept my attention and kept me reading. It also seemed that a lot of things happened for convenience and for a smooth plot, which is fine, just felt a little lazy.
For me, it met my expectations! It was wonderful to step back into the world of Alex Stern.
Fave part
My all time favourite part of this story was TRIPP, which was so unexpected!! I loved his character in NH (pathetic wet blanket of a jock, hello). I literally devoured the last couple of chapters needing to know what happened to him. Which. WHAT THE FRICK. New favourite trope alert?? Possibly??
Not so fave part
Y’all I could’ve done without the whole Eitan sitch. Like. Huge turn off for me. Once I finished, like I got it, but mm didn’t like him coming back. I also could’ve done with it wrapping up as a duology, HB didn’t awaken the same desperate need NH originally did. But hey, guess I can’t complain :D
