I’m really disappointed. I really wanted to like this. I even checked it out from the library twice because I wasn’t able to get to it the first time I checked it out.

I could have handled the 87 different characters, I could have handled the random, unfounded, cheesy hatred from one character who went around accusing EVERYONE of the murder (a common occurrence in cozies of late), I could even have excused the never ending Pride and Prejudice comparisons that after a chapter or two begin to come off as pompous “IYKYKs”.

What I couldn’t move past was the main character’s unrealistic bossing around of a police officer with regards to his investigation, inserting herself as a psuedo-detective just because she reads mysteries, blowing up his phone with texts (again, another common motif in cozies lately), and that not only does he NOT block her for her crazy, he tells her he is in serious “like” with her! In what world?!?!

It had a lot of promise, I wanted to really like this, but hated the characters too much to enjoy it. I may try the upcoming sequel later on, maybe I’ll be more in the mood for something like this, but I’ve got a big TBR so I won’t be rushing to get around to it anytime soon.
