Phantom by Susan Kay

4.0

Susan Kay's Phantom might be one of the most influential piece of work in the Phandom. Personally, I think everyone who loves The Phantom of the Opera should read it.
The main consensus in the Phandom (which I wholeheartedly agree with) is when Susan Kay moves the narrative to Christine Daae's point of view the whole story strays from Leroux narrative and jumps off a cliff. The earlier portions of the book are so incredibly detailed and well researched that I'm half inclined to recommend readers to stop at Christine's section (it's not going to happen because you as the reader pray that the final section blows away the previous section - keep deluding your self because it doesn't happen).
In all, you should read it for the angst.
