Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit by John E. Douglas

3.0

3.5 stars

The topic is obviously engaging, but Douglas’ prose is a slog. He often switches verb tense multiple times per page. It reads like him talking on and on, doubling back to something he mentioned earlier, and previewing something he’ll tell us later. This would be a great audiobook; however, the writing itself is frustrating to the point of eclipsing the darkly fascinating subjects.
