i already knew suzanne collins was a genius from the hunger games but this just solidified it for me. I'm so happy i got the chance to read this as an adult - i think the commentary it provides on children in war is brilliant, as well as commentary on "the other," unassuming allies, parental loss, etc. as some of you may know i am highly interested in children's media that deals with adult-themes/topics and i believe this piece does an amazing job at that. i'm excited to continue the series and see what else it dives into.
