Spoiler FILLED review / summary !
Reia harbinger of bad omens (angel of death) is immediately sacrificed by her town. She was given the option by priestess to either live underground for the rest of her days or marry the Duskwalker / monster. (There are other duskwalkers) marrying the monster may result in death all his brides have "disappeared" within the decade . Orpheus (the duskwalker) let her know that she was not actually a harbinger of bad omens and that she had been carrying around the guilt of her parents death unnecessarily. Orpheus is a total sweetheart to Reia, dedicating his livelihood to keeping her safe within the salt circle along with the safety trinkets. He didn't eat her when she got her period - Reia convinced him to help the other mavka get materials in town to build his own house. Orpheus and the nameless mavka are now friends! The demon king ends up kidnapping Reia when Orpheus is away. The demon king is dating Orpheus' old lover. Reia is FRUSTRATING for not realizing right away who she was. The demon king was offering Reia a better life, an offer to return her home but it was all a ploy to kill Orpheus. She missed him the whole time and there was a big fight scene between everyone. The demon king ended up almost killing Reia but she gave Orpheus her soul and became a half ghost / half human.

Smut was fantastic! But I overall have to give this book a 2.25, it wasn't the most interesting book in the whole world but still a good read but I didn't really care for Reia much.
