n't need it…yet.

Celaena is one of the youngest/strongest characters I have ever read about.  A notorious trained assassin captured and working in the mines is summoned to compete to serve as the king’s champion..and her freedom.  She is there to train and above all else win and not have feelings for the crown prince.

When I started reading this it was quite the page turner, then it lagged, and picked up again at the end.  I couldn’t turn the last 100 pages fast enough.  Thankfully I have the next two books so I'm hoping the next book moves at a faster pace.  Finishing the Throne of Glass Series is a goal of mine for 2022!

Ten Rules for Faking It by Sophie Sullivan

Pub Date: December 29, 2020

Book Rating: 5/5

Wine Pairing: St Supéry Sauvignon Blanc

I love books where the main female character is a little quirky, and Everly Dean is no exception! I laughed out loud so many times while reading, and it made me wonder why I had held onto this one for so long.

This book has everything you could possibly want in a rom com. A relatable female character you can’t help but root for, her BFF, Stacey, is everything you could want and more in a friend, and a man AKA Everly’s boss Chris who has been in love with our main leading lady ever since he laid eyes on her, but she doesn’t know. In fact she thinks he hates her.

When I first picked this one up, so much had happened in the first 100 pages that I thought there was no way my interest would be kept for another 269 pages…but it was! I flew through this book and you will too!

My first 5 glass read of 2022 is coming in HOT! I can’t wait to read the author's next book that will be published this month called How to Love Your Neighbor!

Thoughts:
First off this cover is gorgeous!!

Next I found this story intriguing and incredibly sad. I have never known anyone with alcohol issues so this was very eye opening about how it affects not only the person with the problem, but the people surrounding them as well. I found myself constantly worrying about Tommy, and was waiting for something awful to happen to him.

Overall I enjoyed this story! It was definitely different from anything I have ever read before.

Book Rating: 4/5
