Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

2.0

what a truthfully aggravating book. let me be clear, for a large chunk of it i was enjoying it, planning on a good ol’ “it was fine,” 3/5 score.
the entire first half i didn’t enjoy much at all, besides the character of raymond and his mother. i found eleanor to be a poorly painted picture of an autistic woman, and altogether unlikable.
towards the middle and close to the end, things were looking up. i had new respect for eleanor and hope for her life. and then, the last few pages brought me right back to how i’d originally felt. disappointed. gail honey man i trust you are quite talented, but this just wasn’t for me at all.
