cosmiccorvus 's review for:
Every Day
by David Levithan
This book contains warnings for the following: fatphobia, transphobia, stalking, sexual assault, emotional and physical abuse. For a book about a supposedly gender-fluid character, the portrayal of a transman is really painful. The main love interest is remarkably transphobic and it's not called out. The protagonist and love interest are both extremely fatphobic, and I just can't look past it.
I finished with the hopes of finding a well wrapped up plot line?
N o p e. I really wanted to like this. I love some of Levithan's books, but I just can't enjoy this. The premise is interesting, but it hits a whole lot of squick levels for me.
