A lovely read about the process of training for and eventually running the Iditarod. Gary Paulsen's brutal honesty about the mistakes and absurdness of this time of his life makes the book. Somehow, the descriptions of -60 degree nights don't seem so bad, but rather something you want to do. You begin to understand the madness of those who make the run.
