The Talented Clementine by Sara Pennypacker

4.0

My daughter has started reading these, so I figured I'd better check them out. I started with the second because that's what was available. Clementine is a successor to a long line of smart, goofball girls who endlessly get in trouble but are still somehow endearing (Ramona, Junie B. Jones, etc.). Smart, funny, good-hearted with strong family relationships, this is a winner. One mild complaint: Pennypacker doesn't do much summarizing here, so if you pick the books up out of order--as I did--it takes some time to figure out who everyone is because it's never explained.
