Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria? And Other Conversations about Race
by Beverly Daniel Tatum
I found it to be insightful on the way racial identity forms. I found myself looking at my own experiences as a white man, the times I omit my own racial description when asked to describe myself. I enjoyed her stories of feelings people have described during her exercises. It gave me a similar feeling to Robin DiAngelo’s White Fragility. I’ll be recommending this book to some of my friends, a few hoping to become teachers.
