Lumberjanes, Vol. 4: Out of Time
by Grace Ellis, ND Stevenson, Shannon Watters
This was everything I was hoping/expecting this volume to be. After the first story arc wrapped up in vol 2, we got a short single-volume adventure that did not contribute to a larger arc. I am happy to say that volume 4 returns to tease another larger arc adventure that also looks to expand more on the history of the camp director. My fingers are crossed for some interesting lore in the next few volumes.
As far as the wackiness from volume 1, the characters have become a bit more subdued. While still a little more out there, we are seeing their roles develop a bit more. This is a familiar pattern for me and not unlike watching a cartoon series aimed at kids. In the first few episodes, everything is set to 11 for weird but then a couple of episodes in and the appeal starts to come really shine through.
I am not sure where the series will take me, but it seems guaranteed that I am going to develop a couple of new ships along the way.
