I finally got around to reading this book and can i just say thank you. this book was so beautifully written with everything from how each character looked to the horrors of the battlefield. the way the mood changed after Patroclus died was beautiful I carried a mood for the rest of the book, starting with dread and grief but also no more hope and almost a numbing feeling to then a sense of peace when achilles also died. then to annoyance and desperation when Achilles son would not let them be buried together and finally peace and reassurance when thetis granted Achilles and Patroclus to finally be together in the underworld.
