Really enjoyed the first half. The second half was just endless repetition. I just didn't get the point of the story. Is it a fable? Does it teach us a lesson? It's certainly not a ghost story. Complete waste of my time. Writing was good and many parts of the story were interesting, learning about the mill and Victorian funerary practices but eh. A lot of death in this book but not all that much to sink your teeth into.
