I knew I loved Blair and Denny, but I had no idea how much. I had no idea how reminiscent their story is of my own, and I had no idea how much I wanted to read it.

Both characters hold so much love in their hearts that they don’t know what to do with it. Each finds their own coping mechanism, but neither are very healthy. When they find their way back to each other, Blair and Denny embody the definition of soulmates. There is no question that they are meant to be. Even in moments of doubt, they are completely open with one another and forever true to themselves and each other. It is truly beautiful to read.

Theirs is a difficult story at times. From losing Denny’s mother, Blair’s mother’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis, and their own tragic history, Change of Hart will tug on your heartstrings continuously. Approach with caution but know that you are approaching a story so full of love. This is a happy tale. It’s a love story through and through. The tragedy only makes it more so.

I just have one question: where is Chief?! What happened to him? I kept expecting him to pop up, maybe living his best retired life out in a pasture, but no. Where is he?!
