The Haunting of Hecate Cavendish by Paula Brackston

adventurous dark mysterious tense medium-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Loveable characters? Yes

4.0

I enjoyed this overall. Hecate is easy to root for but also a little bit too perfect. My other qualm with this is the insta-love, I'm never a fan of that. However, neither of those things took away from my enjoyment of all the magical elements of this book (Hekate, the ghosts, the spirits, and especially the map). The supporting characters are well-written and distinct, and the plot moves along quickly. I'll definitely pick up the next one when it eventually comes out.
