The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

4.0

I love Mark Twain, although I'm often surprised that I was allowed to read anything by him as a child. My favorite of these books, even more so that Tom Sawyer. Also, it most certainly should *not* be taught to anyone with the "sanitized" version just published. That sort of censorship is both disgusting in its own right, is deceitful, and makes that oh so common mistake of assuming that children are fragile and need protecting from all the realities of life. If they are not taught about the mistakes of our past, how can we expect them to understand the realities of our present.
