I went into this book fully expecting to be disappointed. EVERYONE has been talking about how great it is, and so I was a little worried that it was being overhyped, especially since I don't often like romance. But I LOVED this book. The romance wasn't to corny or sexual, it was the exact correct amount of cheese and angst. Also the side plots were really engaging and well thought out.

I especially recommend Red, White, and Royal Blue to people who may be hesitant because they don't normally like the enemies to lovers troupe. I normally don't like that troupe (I hate drarry, it doesn't make sense!) But this one was done really well and felt very natural.

I also really liked the side plots! There was some big reveals and interesting dynamics in the side plots. And I loved the side friendships, and I am glad that they were just as important as the romance in the main character's life.

I would definitely rate Red, White, and Royal Blue 5 stars
