Wow, I feel I just got off a roller coaster going a billion miles an hour. Helluva a story, granted slow to start and the flashbacks threw me at first (which is why the 4 stars), however after the first 30% of the book, I couldn't STOP listening. Mr. Maberry has a gift for keeping you on the edge of your seat as you climb into the head of Joe Ledger & Echo team. From heart pounding excitement to heart wrenching tears, the listener/reader is catapulted from one emotion to the next; this series is better than anything on TV, Movies, etc! Why did I wait so long to indulge???
On a side note, this series is BEST experience via audiobook. Ray Porter is a GOD among Narrators. His performance is spectacular! The range of his voices, accents, creation of an character's "voice" in his performance is top notch. Entries in the Joe Ledger series is an auto-buy for me on audiobook. You have the best of both worlds, excellent story telling with Mr. Maberry and excellent performance with Mr. Porter!
