The Duke I Tempted by Scarlett Peckham

3.0

“It was a trap, this business of being a woman. The simple truth of it was that after all her efforts to secure her independence, she was still stuck. To accomplish what she ought, she need not have bothered with years of being single-minded and industrious. She needed only to have been born a man.”

I fell into this romance and was glad read Peckham’s first book. However, the more I think about this, the more uncomfortable I am. Is this really an HEA or is it only temporary? These two, Poppy and Westmead, come with a lot of baggage. I don’t know if they will be good for one another. I know that I am expending a lot of energy on fictional characters, but I am not happy about leaving them where they are.
