While this is a review of the final book I will try and keep it spoiler free as I 100% recommend you all read it if you haven't already.

The world of The Tide Child Trilogy RJ Barker has managed so create is such an intriguing world filled with both loveable and frustrating characters I found immense joy reading about. The characters were nuanced and complex, often straying into questions of morality and what truly justifies one's actions and the consequences from them.

The premise is simple: The world of The Tide Child Trilogy is one where ships are made from the bones of dead sea Dragons (leviathan sized sea monsters named Keyshans). Years later these dragons are thought to be hunted to extinction until rumours start that a single keyshan has even spotted.

The series follows the crew of The Tide Child and the choices they have to make when confronted with the injustices of the word they live in. We met so many amazing characters along the way as they slowly discover the mystery of the Keyshans and the islands connection.

Getting into a little bit of spoilery territory:
I do wish we were able to explore more about the Gullimane and their relationships with the Keyshan. What we got was Tide bits few and far between, made even worse by the fact our main character rarely interacted with them. Especially in this final installment.

Overall I love this series even with its minor faults. Though I am heartbroken I have to leave behind so many characters I came to love and root for.
5 stars!
