Okay, you got me. I'm officially hooked. There are a lot of not good aspects and some problematic aspects, but the entertainment is there. This is what I imagine it feels like to watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or something. Maybe the Bachelor. I never got into trashy drama filled reality TV so maybe now I can embrace trashy NA terribly written fantasy romance books.

Glad to see the writing did improve a little as the book went on, but it should've gone through another round or two of editing + proofreading imo. The incorrect use of em dashes and ellipses drove me a bit insane the first third of the book before I just became numb to it. But at this point, I will put the garbage writing aside for the entertainment factor.

I have to acknowledge that this is not a good fantasy book (arguably not a good book in general). The world building is lacklustre at best and we don't get any answers until the last eighth of the story. Not to mention the supreme lack of effort surrounding names and language. It's also terribly predictable and full of typical tropes but like...I'm kinda okay with it because I was entertained. It may be trash but I want to know what happens.

All I have to say is
Darklina walked so Cas and Poppy could RUN. I saw that coming a mile away.
