Kitchen Table Tarot: Pull Up a Chair, Shuffle the Cards, and Let's Talk Tarot by Melissa Cynova

informative lighthearted fast-paced

4.0

For those new to tarot this would be better as a physical book than audio as you could refer back to it. For more experienced readers the audio book was an enjoyable refresher (although I wish they'd got Melissa herself to read it).

This book has an informal, chatty style. She interprets the Rider Waite Smith images in a fresh, accessible way using modern scenarios to exemplify the meanings. She also includes discussion of what's happening when she reads, being a professional reader and ethics. As a beginner, I wouldn't make this your only tarot book and i didn't agree with all her card interpretations, but for anyone with an interest in tarot this is a worthwhile read.
