For me, the investigation was the best part (as usually is it, sincerely) of the book. The case was sometimes too dark, what I can accept as an important way to make you care for the victim. However, it took me forever to advance with the book because the misogyny almost made me DNF it. It became clear that the misogyny was from the author, that found important to have women in the book only to be objectified or vilified. I read books written in the 1920s that had less misogyny than this book
Moderate: Confinement, Misogyny, Sexism, Torture, Excrement, Kidnapping, Car accident, Suicide attempt, Death of parent
