I was thinking of giving this book a 2-star rating, but then I figured that would be too generous. My expectations were sky-high because of BookTok, but boy, was I wrong! 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️ The mythology aspect was alright, but I wish we delved deeper into the gods' backgrounds and how they interact with mortals. I mean, who just blindly fights for a god without any real motivation, right? It felt like the gods were just having a petty squabble, wrecking entire villages in the process. Silly stuff.

And don't even get me started on the world-building—confusing doesn't even begin to cover it. It was like reading something straight out of the 18th or 19th century, but with a mix of technology and magic thrown in. But hey, mortals can't use magic, go figure! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I might give the second book a shot after I cleanse my literary palate. Cheers!
