I was very intrigued by Roman in Aldo and I loved learning more about him but also seeing him become enamored with a woman pretty much like his two other brothers.

Roman is so sweet, caring and protective of those he deems worthy but he still thinks he isn’t capable of love because his father took that away from him. 😒
I must say I find that him insisting on the fact he can’t love drove me a bit crazy because he loves those close to him and with Effie he did all the right things and said almost all the right things that indicated he was in love. Did he acknowledged that? Hell no! The guy is dense when it comes to love because he’s convinced he ain’t capable of it. Everyone else around knew what was going on and told him but he still didn’t believe it,
Part of my frustration with this was because he was so dreamy but then he had moments where he was an *** all because he couldn’t imagine love was what he was feeling which brought this book a bit down. I was really loving it until my frustration took the front seat.
With all that said, by the end he did good. When he finally acknowledged what he was feeling was love, he was all in. I love that he said every time once he said it first and that Effie didn’t immediately jumped the wagon even though she was in love with him for a while.

Speaking of Effie, I loved that. She is a soft soul which usually ain’t my style but I just couldn’t help but love her. She is so caring of others and compassionate but at the same time she won’t let others steam roll her just because.
She had no choice but “to go along “ with Roman and the situation and she made the best of it.

Ultimately I loved these two together. I loved their sexy times and Effie exploring her se*uality. Roman did good in that department. He made sure he took good care of her and helped her feel more confident in what she was doing and that’s always a plus in my book.

The side characters ( that weren’t that side characters 😊) were amazing. I loved seeing Nonna, Aldo and Vi again and I loved every moment they were on page.
The evil sister turned out to be more than what I expected and I’m glad she is where she is.

I loved this duet and I can’t wait for Melanie’s next release.
